2019 – A Year of Consistency and Strength

Happy New Year! 🎊

On January 1, I ran our local New Years Day 5k with friends and contemplated over what I want to accomplish this year.

I decided that consistency is my top goal. I run often and sign up for races throughout the year, but one thing I lack is consistency. I don’t think I have ever fully prepared for a race. The only one that I came close to training properly is the Greenway Marathon I did in 2017. And that was because I was terrified at the distance! This year I am determined to train properly. The race that I will start training for soon is the Nashville Rock and Roll half marathon in April where I will run as a St Jude hero. And if being more consistent helps me improve my pace, I’ll take it! πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈ

I also want to become stronger this year. I have recently started a boot camp class and want to improve. I thought I was in good shape until I started this class. It’s tough but I know I am tough too. With my personal trainer, boot camp and other strength workouts, I plan on becoming stronger and reduce my body fat/increase lean muscle. πŸ’ͺ🏼

Each year my goals are similar with one thing in common, continuous improvement. There’s always something that we can work on. Here’s to a year of becoming the best we can be! No excuses. πŸ₯‚
