On Saturday, April 28 in Nashville, I will be doing the St Jude Country Music Mini Marathon. This is the first year the Country Music Marathon has offered the 2.6 mile course. Since I’ve done several 5k’s, the distance was perfect for me and I’ll still get to enjoy the excitement of the Country Music Marathon.
I believe I was drinking the night I signed up for this and thought this was wonderful idea. I still do, but its just now hitting me just how BIG this is. They expect 30,000 people for this event and parking is going to be an issue. I’ve done some research on their website Country Music Mini Marathon and hopefully I know what I need to do. Pick up race packet on Thursday or Friday this week, on race day -park at LP Field by 6 am., ride shuttle to start line. Enjoy the excitement of the music and being around a great group of runners!
I’m looking forward to this race, but not looking forward to waking up by 4 am for me to get to the finish line before 6 am. I’m glad they have shuttles that transport the runners to the start. It will be great being involved with this race that also helps a great charity, St Judes. I hope to get a few 3 mile runs in this week in preparation. My running group has helped me work on my running intervals instead of walking the entire time. That was a great decision!

So, my week will be busy with work, workouts and staying motivated for this race! Let’s do this!
